ASHTON-on-Mersey Golf Club captain Jim Reynolds and lady captain Fiona Vaughan-Thomas were delighted with the amount of money raised for their chosen charity during their year of office.

And Reynolds recently presented a cheque for £6,600 to The Christie charity community fundraising co-ordinator, Jen Kent.

He said: “Throughout the year members generously raised money through various events such as a race night, Roc the Mic, captain’s charity day, ladies' fashion show and captain’s day auction.

"Fiona and I would like to thank all of the members and friends who made such a great and generous effort during the past year."
