SALE Golf Glub's Tony Stiles and Henry Hayes top scored to win the am-am section at the latest Manchester Alliance competition at Stamford.
They finished with 45 points, taking them clear of Dan Thistleton and Will Corless (Stamford), on 44, and Mellor and Townscliffe’s Chris Mellor and Tony Woodford, on 43.
Stand's Mark Hancock won the individual pro section, with Alliance captain Dave Green (Dukinfield) finishing in second place tied with Martyn Hamer (Davyhulme Park) on 38, two shots behind Hancock at the event sponsored by Jonathan Gallagher of Galvin Green.
At the other end of the experience ladder, the pro-am was won by young Bramall Park assistant pro Tom Hollingworth, partnered by club colleague Nick Johnson, with 44 points taking them clear of Hancock and Gary Greenhalgh (43) and Ollie Smith and Pete Hamlett (Ashton-on-Mersey), who won a card play-off on 42 from Mark Smith and Chris Holloway (Stamford) and Phil Archer (Poulton Park) and Dave Tonge (Leigh).
