RINGWAY Golf Club’s new captain Jon Walton is delighted and honoured to be appointed to the role and is relishing a great year ahead at the club where he has been a member for 30 years.

The IT consultant's best handicap was 10 and he now plays off 15 and said: “Ringway is a great, friendly, approachable golf club with fantastic and ever-improving facilities.

“Apart from Ringway my favourite course is Conway and the fifth is my favourite hole at my club because it is tricky, but fair, as you can see all the trouble.

“I play at least twice a week and my own person golfing highlight is playing TPC Sawgrass on the Monday after the big professional tournament.

"I will be supporting Mind UK as my captain’s charity.”
