SALE golfing duo Tony Stiles and Tony Lowe topped the am-am section at the latest Manchester and District Golf Alliance fixture at a pristine Haydock Park course.
The pair won with 45 points from Stamford stars Danny Fox and Steve Finan, who had 43, and Chorlton’s Mike Fenton and Andy Hall, on 42.
Racing to victory in the individual pro section was Davenport assistant pro Jamie Howarth with an impressive haul of 43 points, seven-under-par.
But hot on his heels with 42 was Graham Cox, the Lymm assistant pro, with Ryan O’Neill (Penwortham) and Phil Archer (Poulton Park) picking up valuable Order of Merit points as they posted 40 apiece.
Chorley pro Mark Bradley kept up his hot Alliance streak as he partnered club colleague Andy Bibby to a hefty 47 points to lead in the pro-am section.
It took them two points clear of Graham Cox and Anton Johnson (Warrington), Phil Archer and Matt Harding (Dunham Forest), Jamie Howarth and Archie Palmer (Davenport) and Ryan O’Neill and his Stamford partner Steve Moores.
