CRINGLEWOOD edged out Timperley Cons 4-3 in a thrilling match in the Altrincham and Sale Round the Board Darts League last week.
The match was played at the highest level with all throwers on top form.
Cons took a leg, then Cringlewood hit back with one and so this went on until it was 3-3 and in the last leg it was Cringlewood who hit the bull first to take the match, and in doing so secure a clear second spot just four points behind the Jolly Butcher.
The Butcher are top of the league and showed why when, led by captain Stuart Graham, they beat the Central 7-0.
Budenburgs had an impressive 4-3 victory over fourth-placed British Rail in a close match that went down to the wire, while Broadheath Central beat the Station 5-2.
