JUDO stars who train at the George H Carnall Leisure Centre in Urmston enjoyed medal success at the Lancashire Open staged in Kendal.
Their renowned coach, Steve Pullen MBE, said: "Our players who were combined from George Carnall and Manchester University did us proud, led by Nick Ripple who won the gold medal.
“John Nicholson and Sam Charalambous won silver then Nick Vass and Eduardo won bronze and Poppy Whailing, aged only 14, also took silver.
“Iris Zechner won two bronze medals in the Manchester open in different weights and she also won a place on the Manchester judo squad from 2018-2019.
