ALTRINCHAM Kersal's first team continued their unbeaten run in the Lancs/Cheshire North Division One in ruthless fashion at Fleetwood RUFC.

With Fleetwood hoping to get back to winning ways after defeat to Tarleton the previous week, it all looked set to be a tough encounter from the off with both sides battling for possession early doors.

In a hotly-contested game it was Kersal who came out on top, with Fleetwood losing two players to red cards.

It was the league leaders Kersal who battled on in determined fashion to claim bragging rights with a 50-25 victory.

On Saturday, Tarleton visit Stelfox Avenue, kick off 3pm.

The seconds lost heavily away to Birkenhead Park Wanderers seconds, going down 128-0.

On Sunday, the Senior Colts continued their winning streak with a hard fought 21-17 triumph against Heaton Moor Senior Colts.

In a tight game, with both teams defending undefeated records this season, Heaton Moor had the wind at their backs in the first half and made it count, scoring early to take a 5-0 lead before two further tries saw them go into the break 17-0 up.

Kersal regrouped and started to use the ball more effectively in possession in the second half and tries from Jacob Ansbro, Sam Walsh and Aaron Antrobus, along with two well-slotted conversions from Max Brookes, gave Kersal a 21-17 lead heading into the final five minutes.

Heaton Moor piled on the pressure in a valiant attempt to regain the lead, but a disciplined defensive display from the home team kept the visitors out.

Kersal maintained their 100-per-cent record and remain top of the league.

The under-15s also came out top in the keenly-contested local derby at home to Bowdon.

A tight game throughout eventually saw Kersal claim a well-earned 31-19 victory.

The u14s performed excellently at Bowdon, winning 33-31 in an evenly-contested match to make it a double of junior wins against Kersal's local rivals.
