TRAFFORD MV's new head coach Ricky Phillips is keen to see if the hard work in pre-season pays off when the team have their first friendly on Saturday against Llandudno RFC.
With new faces in the squad, MV are champing at the bit for a return to action with a first round Lancashire Trophy tie on home soil against familiar foes Oldham next up over the August bank holiday weekend.
September brings the final friendly prior to the opening game in the inaugural ADM Lancashire Premier Division, when Thornton Cleveleys visit Trafford renewing another old rivalry.
The season begins when Aldwinians are the visitors to MacPherson Park.
MV is looking for the best young talent that wants to prove themselves in local rugby and is urging local youngsters to get involved with a club that has produced players who have represented County sides, Premiership and Championship sides as well as Sale Sharks director of rugby, Steve Diamond.
Any young players interested should contact Wilf Dooley on 01942 884542 or 07771 913994.
