ALTRINCHAM Kersal's second XV secured a league and cup double last weekend when they won the BEST Trophy at Burnley RUFC, beating Didsbury TocH 38-22.
Doug Whyley scored two great tries while there were other scores for Sam Gallimore, Matt Geiger, Andy Fros and, Ishmael Bashir, while Paul Howarth kicked four conversions.
On Sunday it was the turn of Kersal's junior squads, with the U17s Colts looking to also end their successful season as league champions.
After a full-on game of competitive rugby they just fell short at the final hurdle, losing out to local rivals Bowdon U17s 14-5.
The weekend culminated in yet another chance to celebrate for the Timperley-based club as the U16s were crowned Cheshire Cup champions after a 46-7 win against Bowdon.
