RETURNING Isobel Seed’s brace helped the Urmston ladies’ thirds bag their first win of the season as they resoundingly beat Bolton thirds 4-0.

Seed was joined on the scoresheet by Stella Connery and Ellen Shaw, who capped a dominant midfield performance with a goal.

Built on an impenetrable defence of Beth Harper, Tia Sharp, and Cas Butcher, Urmston’s attacking play was too hot to handle as they romped to victory.

It was a tale of two keepers in the men’s club as both Ryan Cherry and Chris Bates picked up the man-of-the-match awards for the men’s firsts and seconds respectively.

Bates’ heroics helped the seconds inflict Horwich men's firsts' first loss of the season as the Greens triumphed 2-1 in Division Five North South with goals from Stuart Higginbottom.

Meanwhile Cherry’s impressive display between the sticks should have seen the men’s firsts share the spoils with Crewe Vagrants’ firsts in Division Two West but for a controversially disallowed goal at the other end in their 3-2 loss.
