MANCHESTER Giants are still searching for their first home win of the season after a 97-74 defeat at the hands of Bristol Flyers.

A blistering first quarter from David Kadiri, where he registered 11 points and seven rebounds, helped Giants keep within two points after the opening 10 minutes, trailing 26-24.

It was a missed three-point shot towards the end of the first quarter, which was then punished by a late effort from Panos Mayindombe, that swung the momentum in the Flyers' favour and they squeezed the Giants out in the second quarter to go six in front by half time.

The home side got in foul trouble in the third quarter and conceded 20 points, 10 of which were from the free-throw line, while only responding with 10 themselves.

The deficit grew past 20 and the Giants had no answer to the visitors, for whom the excellent Brandon Boggs led with 24 points.

A couple of late three-point shots meant Ingus Bankevics top scored for the Giants with 17, while Kadiri did eventually record his fourth double-double of the season, 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Giants are back in action against Sheffield Sharks at home at the Trafford Sportsdome on Sunday (5pm).
