URMSTON Hockey Club’s Under-15s sealed two draws in a tournament on Sunday as they drew with Stockport B and Didsbury B.

Sam Wood made impressive saves in goal behind a strong defence of James Rapinett and Joe Wilcox, with captain Evan Renshaw leading the team.

Max Groves, Drew Ilsley, and Cornelius Carey were at the heart of the side’s attacking display, while the u15 girls also competed against strong Timperley and Didsbury sides.

Mikki and Georgie Keayrns battled at each end of the pitch, supported by Medline Seed, Abi Harris and Florence Rhodes.

Andy Shenton netted the winner for the men’s thirds in Division Eight South East and picked up another man-of-the-match award as they edged rivals Didsbury 3-2.

He was joined on the scoresheet by Steve Coupe while youngsters Carey and Wilcox also impressed.

Stefan Wasilewski scored twice as the men’s firsts made it three consecutive wins in Division Two West with a 6-0 victory over struggling Oxton Men’s seconds.

Tom Hughes also netted a brace with Brad Bates and Andy Power completing the scoring to move the Greens into sixth place.

The men’s seconds went one better with a 7-0 win against Prescot seconds in Division Five North South as Lewis Monk sealed another goal and man-of-the-match performance.

Owen Monk, Stewart Higginbottom, and a hat-trick for Rob Skelley completed the rout to keep pace with leaders Horwich while the ladies’ seconds beat Glossop ladies' firsts 7-1 in the cup.
