Awards for league stars
OLD Stretfordians member Malcolm Kershaw picked up a long-service accolade at the Manchester FA 2017 Grassroots Awards ceremony recently.
Manchester's Midland Hotel was the venue for the event which saw Mr Kershaw honoured as Lancashire and Cheshire Amateur Football League fixtures secretary and for completing 31 years service.
Meanwhile, former L&C president John Melia also picked up the same award for 37 years of service in grassroots football with his connections to Moston Brook FC, refereeing and league management duties.
The FA's Male Team of the Year award went to L&C new boys Dom Doyle FC’s open-age team and the final award for the league was collected by Steve Joyce, of Village Manchester, as Volunteer of the Year.
