THE members of a Sale Moor karate club are celebrating a medal haul on he international stage.
Five students from SWFKC, based in Sale, competed as part of the England team at the World Championships in Portugal.
The Sale Moor students returned home with a five gold, three silver and three bronze medals.
Chris Eaton, who runs the club, said: "This is a fantastic and proud reward for the hard effort and focus, demonstrated by the students."
The championships ran over a four day period in late October, and 18 countries were represented with an age range of 6 to 60 years.
There were over 100 competitors in the England team, supported by students and coaches, many of whom were making their first appearance at the world championships.
Now Chris is looking to build on the success by inviting new students to join and train for free until February next year.
