TRAFFORD Schools under-13s will break new ground for the town football team when they play Liverpool in the semi-final of the national cup on March 11.
No Trafford team has ever gone further than the quarter-finals in the competition which has been in existence since the 1960s.
A total of 104 teams entered the competition and the youngsters' achievement is all the more impressive as Trafford is one of the smallest districts in the country.
The game against Liverpool will be played at Trafford FC's ground in Flixton and kick off at 7pm.
