SALE Harriers youngsters have won the Premier league national title
The under 13 and under 15 boys and girls became national champions in a thrilling match at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham.
Competing as Northern League Champions, they battled against Britain’s top eight clubs in almost a hundred different age-group events and were never out off the top podium position. In a long, tough but exciting day of competition their impressive lead by forty points at the start of the competition was gradually whittled to a nail-biting eight points, enough to win the prestigious national title from runners-up Blackheath & Bromley H &AC.
Team manager David Marsh said: “We knew Sale had a very strong team and this victory is a fantastic triumph for the club."
This is Sale Harriers second major national title of the summer. In August, their senior men won the prestigious Premier League title.
