WORTHINGTON Primary School’s PTFA (Parents, Teachers and Friends Association) is holding its annual Pamper and Shopping Evening.

Several local businesses have already joined to take part in the evening to offer offering mini beauty treatments to guests, and selling products such as, handbags, jewellery and be-spoke homemade products, but places are still available for businesses to promote themselves. Stalls are just £10 and businesses can also purchase an advert in the event programme for an extra £5.

The Worthington Primary PTFA runs various events throughout the School year to raise money which goes towards additional resources that enhance the school experience for the pupils who attend the school.

The PTFA has made a substantial contribution to the recent re-laying of the school playing fields after drainage issues, as well as purchasing book bags for the 45 new starters in the 2017 Reception classes.

Worthington’s Head Teacher, Mr Clive Searle, has been head at the school for over 20 years and said he appreciates the support the school gets from parents and friends.

He said: “At Worthington we’re lucky that we get tremendous support from the local community for events such as the Pamper Evening and without that we would struggle to give our children the school experience they deserve. We face challenging times for school funding so events like this really make a difference.”

The pamper and shopping evening will be held at the school on Worthington Road in Sale Moor on October 19 from 7pm. On the night there will also be a bar and light refreshments available. Tickets are available in advance at £3 each or four for £10 or people can pay £3.50 for entry on the night.
