AN OLD Trafford-based young Asian women's group has received a national award Pulling Together Asian Women's Group picked up the National Council for Voluntary Youth Services (NCVYS) award at a ceremony at the Lancaster Hotel in London on Saturday (December 4).

Development worker, Robina Sheikh said: "It was a great achievement for our group of young Asian women to win and be an inspiration to others. It was such a pleasure to be part of something national and even better to come away as winners."

As well as the award, the group were presented with £500, a year’s membership to NCVYS, an adventure trip and an opportunity to deliver workshops to youths group across England.
