POLICE have released a picture of a teenager they want to speak to after a man was racially abused in Stretford.

The cashier, at the Sevenways Service Station on Bradfield Road, was racially abused by a teenager after he refused to sell cigarettes to a girl without proof of age.

After the cashier, who is Asian, refused to serve the girl just before 9.30pm on October 3, the offender hit the serving shelf and abused him.

The girl then re-entered the store to buy chocolate and when the cashier refused to serve her because of her previous behaviour she stole a packet of crisps.

Police Constable Rachel Worswick said: "The cashier was simply doing his job and because of this he was racially abused.

"Racial abuse is not acceptable in any society and people should be allowed to do their job without being subjected to this type of behaviour.

"If anyone recognises the teenager in the picture please call us."
