AN ACE storyteller is challenging anyone interested in the spirit of Hallowe'en to attend her 'Fright Night'.

Sharon Richards will host the evening at the launch of her new story-telling club on November 1 – the day after Hallowe'en - at the Orange Tree pub in Altrincham.

Sharon, whose club is called Success Stories, said: “Fear is an emotion that fascinates people.

“It can come instantaneously or it can build up slowly. That’s what I and the other storytellers will be aiming to do on the night….build up fear.

“There will be stories to make people’s blood run cold. That’s why it’s definitely not for children. It’s strictly for adults and mature teenagers.”

She added: “I want everyone to enjoy an entertaining evening, whether they tell a spooky tale or just listen.

“For anyone who does want to tell a story there will be a mystery prize for the teller of the best one.

“Three years ago I co-hosted a similar event at Liverpool’s Tate Modern Art Gallery where several members of the audience ended up screaming.

“But I don’t want anyone to be put off. Although I’m calling it a ‘Fright Night’ and the stories may be creepy, eerie and downright scary, there will be nothing gory or too unpleasant.”

Pub landlady Di Hart said: “There’s very often an eerie atmosphere in the Orange Tree.

“I’ve heard some of the creepy stories by Sharon and some of her friends.

“That’s why, after the meeting, I’ll try to warm up everyone there with my home-made hotpot.”

Tickets for the event will cost £10, which includes the hotpot supper.

Tickets, which must be bought in advance, can be bought at the pub, by calling Sharon on 07854 227 805 or on-line at www.success-stories-at-work.com.”
