SANTA has been a regular visitor to Altrincham town centre over the past few weeks - courtesy of Altrincham Rotary Club.

The club was asked by Altrincham Unlimited (BID) to help with 'pop up' Santas throughout the town to attract shoppers and diners.

Santa appeared in various places bringing fun and delight to lots of surprised children and families. Venues he appeared at included Rackhams House of Fraser, Wilkos store, The House restaurant/bar and at the the Lantern Parade.

On December 9, Santa appeared at the Cheshire Tap, Kings Court where a special Santa children's meal was held and where a grotto was set up.

Linda Roy, from Altrincham Unlimited, was delighted with the help from Altrincham  Rotary Club: “Altrincham has turned on the magic this year with the” Christmas Lights Switch On on November 18 followed by the Lantern Parade on December 2,  making it  a 'go to' destination for families this Christmas.

"Pop-up Santa’s Grottos have been very much a part of this, and the Rotary Club members have worked extremely hard to make them a success.
“We’d like to thank the Rotary Club for the brilliant job they have done bringing pop-up Santa’s Grottos to Altrincham and spreading smiles and cheer all around the town. Altrincham Unlimited’s donation of £800 reflects their contribution to attracting visitors to Altrincham town centre this Christmas.”
Ken Garrity, from Altrincham Rotary Club, said: “All the Altrincham Rotarians put in lots of time and hard work to help make this a magical time for all."
