Over 800 local people regularly gather for the festive evening, which is a free-entry event. This year’s concert will take place on December 17 between 4.30pm and 6.00pm.

Local radio DJ Mark Blackman will host the event which will traditional carols led by Bowdon Prep School Choir accompanied by brass from VBS Poynton Brass Band.

One the carols have been sung a special guest will make an appearance to hand out sweet treats donated by Swizzels and decorated gingerbread men donated by Roberts Bakery.

Organiser and fundraiser, Rob Bashforth said: “This is a wonderful community event and we’re so excited that this is our 23rd year! Local businesses and individuals are so generous – sponsoring Carols and placing adverts in the programme, there’s no way it could happen without their support. It is a magical evening which for many heralds the start to their festivities. We hope this year’s event will be as well attended, and supported, as previous years.”

The charity relies totally on donations and support in order to raise the £1million it needs to continue their work.
