STAFF at Stretford estate agents, Reeds Rains, are getting into the festive spirit by taking part in a special charity initiative called Mission Christmas.

Organised by the national charity, Cash for Kids, Mission Christmas is designed to encourage donations of children’s gifts - or cash donations - for disabled, ill and disadvantaged children within the region - particularly those whose chance of receiving a Christmas gift is unlikely without this support.

The new Reeds Rains branch at 139 Barton Road, Stretford, Manchester, M32 8DN will act as a designated drop off point for the gifts - from now until December 17 - when the team will take the presents to a special Mission Christmas HQ before they are distributed in time for Christmas day.

Gifts that are new, unwrapped and suitable for children from birth up to the age of 18 years are welcomed.

Paul Decalmer, branch manager of the Reeds Rains branch, said: “Reeds Rains was determined to continue its support of Cash for Kids following its participation in their special Superhero Fundraising Day earlier this year which led them to raise more than £31,300 for the charity.

"We’re now really hoping that people will embrace the opportunity to make a real difference to those less fortunate than them over the festive season and ultimately ensure that every child can look forward to a happy Christmas this year.”

Sally Aitchison,Cash for Kids MD, commented:

“We are over the moon to have Reeds Rains support with our Christmas appeal. Across the UK 1 in 4 children will be living in poverty on Christmas day, this means many families will struggle to heat their homes and have a hot meal. We ask our supporters to make a donation or buy one extra gift to ensure every child wakes to a gift this Christmas and would like to Thank Reeds Rains for helping us to make a real difference to children in our local communities.”

Gifts can be donated at the Reeds Rains branch every day, except Sunday, during normal office hours.
