FOLLOWNG its win against 20 other second section bands in the North West Regional Brass Band Championships recently, Flixton Brass Band members are busily fundraising to attend the national finals in Cheltenham in September.
The band members are thrilled with their newly appointed musical director, Ian Brownbill, and attribute much of their success to him.
In order to represent Trafford and Greater Manchester on that occasion, they need to raise £3,000 to get there.
They are already rehearsing for a fundraising concert at St Clement’s Church, Manor Avenue, Urmston on July 15. Tickets are already on sale from flixband@aol.com.
Meanwhile, the band would welcome donations to justgiving.com/crowdfunding/FlixtonBand.
