HUNDREDS of shoppers attended the opening of homewares retailer Dunelm’s new store in Broadheath.

The brand new 30,000 sq ft store at Bridgewater Retail Park on Manchester Road, was officially opened by the Mayor of Trafford, Councillor Judith Lloyd on Tuesday, February 28.

Students from Navigation Primary School choir brightened up the morning celebration, with 20 students performing musical hits for shoppers as they sheltered. The pupils even prepared a personalised song for the store colleagues to celebrate the opening.

To mark the opening, Dunelm Altrincham presented Navigation Primary School, who are based less than a mile away from the new store, with a £200 cheque to thank them for their support.

Dunelm Altrincham store manager, Suzannah Bolton, said: “The opening event was a great success and we really enjoyed welcoming our Altrincham neighbours into our new store.

“We have been counting down the days to opening and everyone in the team worked really hard to get the store ready for the official opening day. We are looking forward to settling into our new neighbourhood and have got lots planned over the next few months for the local community.”

The new Altrincham store, which has free parking, will be open seven days a week.
