AN Urmston pub is celebrating after bagging a top award from real ale group CAMRA.
The Lord Nelson has been named community pub of the year by the Trafford and Hulme branch of CAMRA.
The accolade came after the pub raised £6,000 for Francis House Children's hospice in Didsbury.
Landlord and landlady, Ian and Julie Slamon, were presented with the award by CAMRA'S Trafford and Hulme branch chairman, John O'Donnell.
John said when presenting the award in recognition of the pub's tireless efforts raising money for various charities and because of the warm and welcoming atmosphere the couple have created in the Nelson over the past 16 years.
Their fundraising exploits for Francis House included dlimbing Machu Picchu in Peru
