PARTINGTON Sports Village is changing its opening hours - and leisure bosses Trafford Leisure says this will suit its customers.
From the autumn, the opening hours of the sports village will change so that it opens at 4pm Monday to Friday with normal hours remaining at the weekend.
Trafford Leisure, which runs the facility, says the change is being put in place to recognise that demand is higher after 4pm than during the day, when the centre is presently underused.
Lunchtime swims will be available on Monday and Tuesday.
Trafford Leisure’s chief operating officer, Jo Cherrett, said: “These changes are part of a strategic solution, agreed by Trafford Leisure’s board, to ensure a sustainable future for the sports village and the local community’s use of it.”
She added that an active living manager will be work across the community on projects, such as health walks.
During opening hours the sports village will continue to provide swimming facilities, including school swimming lessons, gym, exercise classes, sports hall activities including five-aside and badminton and outdoor sports such as football.
Those members of the community who regularly use the facility will be contacted to let them know of the changes.
