A MAN had been caught with cannabis – after calling the police to his home to retrieve a bag.
Robert Gallo, currently of Woodhouse Road, Urmston, had called the police for assistance on April 6.
The 21-year-old claimed that he had been assaulted by his partner and wanted officers to retrieve a leather bag from the flat he was living in at the time.
When officers went to the house, they found a stash of cannabis, worth £40, beside the aforementioned bag.
He appeared before Trafford Magistrates Court to face a charge of possession of cannabis on Tuesday May 10 and pleaded guilty.
When sentencing, the magistrate urged Gallo to ‘get yourself together’ and handed him a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered him to pay a £15 victim surcharge.
