TRAFFORD College has joined forces with Manchester United to celebrate the ninth annual National Apprenticeship Week, which takes place from March 14-18 with the theme ‘Rise to the top’.
Trafford College is working in partnership with the club to deliver a number of new apprenticeship vacancies at the Theatre of Dreams.
Manchester United has been working closely with Trafford First, the college’s dedicated recruitment service, to recruit apprentices and to develop their current staff with training programmes.
Since the start of the new partnership, apprenticeships opportunities have been created in Business Administration, Facilities Services, Human Resources, ICT, Customer Service and Hospitality.
Amanda Hall, HR business partner with Manchester United, said: “Apprenticeships are a fantastic way for ambitious young people to gain the practical and relevant experience they need to show future employers they can hit the ground running and gain that edge in a competitive job market.
“We have a mix of apprenticeships across the club at various levels (intermediate, advanced, higher) which allows individual apprentices to choose which qualification best suits their interest, academic capacity and future ambition, while also helping the Club fill the skills gap at the right level. Partnering with Trafford College allows us to source candidates from our local area, and we always have the initiative to help people from our community wherever we can.
“Manchester United has a strong track record of giving young players a chance on the pitch and this scheme means we can carry that through into the business side. We have some brilliant apprentices who are hopefully going to make a big impact at the club this season.”
