AN exhibition will take place on Friday June 6 and Saturday June 7 at George H Carnall Sports Centre, Kingsway Park, Davyhulme, to inform the public about planned improvements to the M60.
The smart motorways scheme, outlined by the Highways Agency, will see the use of variable speed limits, traffic detection loops in the road, overhead signs and CCTV in an attempt to tackle issues of congestion.
These improvements will take place on the M60 between junction 8 and junction 20 of the M62, which is the busiest section of the motorway in the whole of the UK.
To ensure this major improvement is completed, there is going to be a period of disruption while work is undertaken.
From this summer onwards you will see road works and traffic management on sections of the motorway. This will include narrow lanes, temporary speed limits, full motorway closures and diversions.
Drivers should attend the event in Davyhulme to find out more information about the scheme.
