FIREFIGHTERS were called to a paper mill in Trafford Park after a machine caught fire.
Two crews from Salford Fire Station and one from Stretford were called to Trafford Park Mill, on Trafford Park Road, at 11.50pm on Saturday, January 18.
It is thought that a mechanical fault had caused an industrial paper making machine to over-heat and then set alight.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus put out the blaze with a jet, they then used a fan to disperse smoke from the heavily smoke-logged warehouse and a thermal imaging camera to ensure no pockets of fire were left undetected.
The crews then left the scene in the hands of the mill’s onsite specialist.
