PARTINGTON Working Men’s Club nominated Children Living with Inherited Metabolic Diseases (Climb) as their charity for 2012.
Throughout the year they held various fundraising activities such as quiz nights and a Halloween Party - raising more than £1,000.
Gaynor Dooley has been attending Partington Working Men’s Club for over 20 years and nominated Climb because her granddaughter died at 16 months old from a rare metabolic disorder called Sandhoff disease.
Fiona Trotter from Climb was presented with the cheque by Gaynor at the club. Fiona said: “It is a tremendous amount of money, which members of Partington Working Men’s Club have raised.
"During 2012 Climb has supported more than 7,500 families who are affected by Metabolic Diseases over a wide range of over 700 different metabolic conditions. Demand for our services has continued to grow and it is through donations such as this that will enable us to continue to provide information and support to many more families.”
