SALE Rotary Club has launched its annual search to find an outstanding ‘unsung hero’.
Its annual ‘Tom Morris Community Award’ is a ‘people’s honour’ for someone who gives dedicated community service and go the extra mile to help make Sale a better place to live.
Named after a distinguished former Sale Rotarian, the late Tom Morris, the framed award names each year’s winner and they also receive a cash award and certificate.
The first winner was Simon Youd whose community scheme ‘Skillz FC’ was changing the face of the Sale West estate for primary school children, adults, the over 50s and unemployed residents alike.
Last year the winner was Daniel Gallacher, whose tireless work tackles issues affecting the daily lives of disabled people in Trafford.
Nominations will close at the end of August. To put someone forward send an e-mail to grahamking@btinternet.com.
