TWO Withington Girls’ School pupils have swept the board with the highest possible marks available in their GCSE exams.
Hannah Ali, from Bramhall, and Timi Illife, from Didsbury, both scooped 12 top grades in their GCSEs, each achieving 10 A*s and two grade 9’s in their English papers.
Withington Girls’ School pupils have achieved an outstanding set of examination results, securing the top A* grade in 83 per cent of non-reformed GCSE papers taken this year, with an exceptional 97 per cent attaining grades A* to A.
In the more rigorous newly reformed English Literature and English Language courses, pupils performed extremely well. Overall, 93 per cent of all papers taken by the cohort of 70 girls were awarded the top A* to A and 9 to 7 grades.
