PERSONALISED clothing business Clothes2order.com has invested £250,000 to increase production capacity to keep pace with soaring demand.

The investment has led to more than 20 new production jobs, taking staff numbers to more than 140.

Clothes2order.com, which is based in Trafford Park, prints and embroiders logos and designs on to t-shirts, polo shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, caps and other items.

It supplies businesses, teams and communities in more than 35 countries. Clients range from small firms and charities to household names such as Google, Coca-Cola, Mercedes-Benz, Microsoft and Kellogg’s.

The firm’s latest outlay has seen it install additional embroidery and vinyl printing machines and upgrade existing direct-to-garment printing equipment.

It takes the firm’s total investment over the past four years to £1.5m.

Managing director, Sam Jones, said: “The extra capacity and staff numbers enable us to keep pace with the rapid increase in demand we are experiencing.

“It took a decade for the business to produce one million logos, and now we are printing or embroidering over a million designs each year.

“We’re seeing especially strong growth for workwear, in sectors such as hospitality, construction and leisure. Demand for embroidery on caps is also buoyant.

“We are continually investing in the latest equipment to ensure we remain at the forefront of the industry in terms of speed, flexibility, quality and colour vibrancy.”

Clothes2order.com is the fastest-growing part of Quayside Group, which is on track to achieve record turnover of more than £12m for 2017, up from £10.7m last year
