A NEW day nursery is set to open its doors on Market Street in the centre of Altrincham. The Monkey Puzzle franchise is being launched and managed by owners Laura Cardy and Nicola Cooper, who have worked together at St Anne’s Primary School in Sale for the past 13 years.

Ms Cardy has worked as an Early Education class teacher throughout her career, and was part of the senior leadership team at St Anne’s, rolling out new initiatives across the school.

Ms Cooper holds various professional qualifications in childcare and Early Years practice and has previous private nursery care experience, in addition to her previous role as a teaching assistant at St Anne’s.

Monkey Puzzle Altrincham’s mission is to provide children with a nurturing, challenging and stimulating 'home from home' environment.

The nursery will cater for the needs of children aged up to five, meaning that a child is able to spend all of his or her early years in a happy, familiar nursery where they will receive expert care and encouragement throughout all stages of development.

The fully revamped nursery site, which will be available to up to 60 children at any one time, will feature an 'Indoor/Outdoor' room, allowing permanent access to fresh air and physical activities in all weathers, and a sensory room to engage the youngest children in stimulating light and sound activities. An onsite teacher will run daily numeracy and literary lessons.

Monkey Puzzle has more than 50 day nurseries UK wide, all franchisee owned, and has a strong reputation in the sector for excellence and outstanding childcare.

Laura Cardy said: “We are so excited to open Monkey Puzzle Altrincham, and can’t wait for people to see and experience our brand-new nursery, which we have filled with excellent Early Years provision specifically selected to suit the development needs of the children in our care.

"As mothers ourselves, we understand how absolutely crucial it is for parents to know that their child is having their development and emotional needs met at nursery. We are both hugely passionate about nurturing children and getting the best out of them from a young age, as well as making them feel secure and settled every day.”

Nicola Cooper added: “We are delighted with the new site on Market Street – we couldn’t have hoped for a better location. We plan to make the most of the nursery space, and continually create new and exciting activities for the children in our care to participate in, such as music sessions, foreign language classes and fun physical development sessions. We are also really proud to be a part of the hugely successful Monkey Puzzle family, and can’t wait to open our doors to the parents and children of Altrincham.”

The owners intend to work to achieve an Outstanding rating from Ofsted as early as possible, and will employ 13 support staff. Monkey Puzzle Altrincham will open in early October 2017, and will be open from 7.30am to 6.30pm, 51 weeks each year.

The owners are running open days on 22/23/24th September. People who are interested should call 0800 411 8500 to book an individual tour of the nursery.
