ALTRINCHAM Dental Practice have lauched a competition to find their longest standing patient.
The practice on Manchester Road has been looking after teeth in the community since at least the 1940s. It was previously named AP Corless and before that owned and run by Arthur Farnworth. Now, current owner Chris Edwards wants to appreciate the practice’s history.
He said: “With the launch of our website, we thought it would be interesting to balance the new with an acknowledgement of the practice’s past and continued presence in the local community.”
He added: We know the practice was here in the 1940s but our records don’t stretch much further back than the 1960s.”
“I’ve heard some great stories about its history during my time here. One patient told me there used to be a cinema opposite the building and - unsuprisingly - much preferred to escape to see a film than their local dentist.”
A bunch of flowers and champagne will be awarded to the winner as well as a being a recognised part of Altrincham Dental Practice’s history.
Anyone who visited the practice as far back as 1950 or earlier should contact the team on 0161 928 2886.
