1. Youth Cabinet Logo • Members thanked Oliver for his work in designing the logos. Members chose the silhouette logo. Members were photographed to become silhouettes on the logo. Oliver to carry on working on it. Members who are not here today can be photographed next week.

2. Youth Service review meeting and questionnaire • A member has been invited to a workshop about the future of the youth service. Naadhirah was chosen to attend. The week before we will have a discussion about the youth service so she can represent our views. Members filled in the youth service questionnaire.

3. Campaign areas questionnaire • Still with the website people.

4. Chris T leadership course update • Chris T has been to a leadership course at Stoke Mandeville hospital. It is the Whizz Kid’s version of the D of E. Part of the course was how to use a wheelchair properly. Even Chris learned new things about how to use his wheelchair.

• Whizz Kid’s is a charity that campaigns for equipment for disabled children and young people. They need 100,000 people to sign their online petition to get a debate in the house of Parliament. Natasha suggested that we take it into schools. Mark to email out the link and put it on facebook.

5. UKYP national sitting/ Matthew resignation/ DMYP’s • Shereen can’t attend the national sitting so we need a replacement. However We don’t have an DMYP to attend because Matthew has had to resign due to his new job.

• After discussion it was decided to vote on another DMYP (and a reserve) at the next meeting. Anyone who has been a member this year can stand. There will not be any speeches. People will be judged on their contributions to the cabinet.

6. Home to school transport policy consultation • Discussion of the proposed new home to school transport plan • Mark explained how the old and new schemes work • Shereen said she and Elmyra had supported the new policy at a spending challenge event.

• Fatma said she agreed with the new policy but it was unfair on those who had already chosen their schools.

• Most members thought the policy change was unfair and the council could save money elsewhere. However if the policy was to be brought in it should apply to all pupils.
