LADYCARE hair salon has this week joined the list of businesses on the Counter Action Roll of Honour.

The salon on Gloucester Road, Urmston, specialises in long hair and hair for special occasions but also does normal haircuts and ensures it keeps up with the latest trends.

The salon joins the list of 60 independent businesses on the Counter Action Roll of Honour scheme, which aims to highlight traders who offer a high standard of service to their customers, so that they are recognised and appreciated by their community.

A satisfied client of 25 years, June Connolly-Waldron, said: "They are terrific and keep updating styles."

"I and many of my friends have always not only had friendly and courteous attention but have been squeezed in when an important occasion was on."

The salon is closed on Mondays but is open from 9am-5pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 9am-6pm on Thursday, 9am-7pm on Fridays and 8.30am-3pm on Saturdays.

The owner, Diane Georgiou, said: "I think it's rather nice for someone to nominate us for the Roll of Honour."

She added: "We have clients who have been coming to us for three generations! We have a friendly salon, and we like for people to want to come back to us."

The salon employs four young, friendly hairdressers who enjoy their work and are much appreciated by their customers.

The salon was opened 32 years ago in 1974, set on bustling Gloucester Road, and has had regular customers ever since.
