As the Summer holidays fizzle to an end, we start to get bored. Luckily, there are two new games out this week that should provide just enough fun to get you through to September.

Gormiti is the one action fans should check out. Based on the popular cartoon series (which is based on the popular miniature collectable toys) it follows four young human heroes as they plunge into the world of Gormiti monsters. The island of Gorm is threatened by the evil forces of Magmion, so it’s up to you to use the elemental powers of earth, forest, air and water to save the day.

There’s loads of fighting, with plenty of cool special powers to use, but the game also finds room for some not-too-tricky puzzles and gives you time to explore the surroundings and maybe find a few secrets.

It’s not the sort of game that will keep you hooked like a Pokemon or a LEGO Harry Potter, but it’s a fun smash-em-up and fans will enjoy the chance to play alongside friends in the multiplayer co-operative mode. If you liked the Ben 10 games, this is definitely worth your time. There’s even a free Gormiti toy in the game box to sweeten the deal!

If you prefer grooving to grappling, then Grease is where you should be spending your holiday money. Based on the popular movie musical, which has now become a stage smash, it lets you play through the familiar story of Danny Zuko and Sandra Dee as they fall in and out of love at Rydell High School.

It’s a singing game, obviously, and all the hits are included, like Summer Loving and You’re The One That I Want. But there’s more to it than just karaoke. The Wii version uses the consoles motion sensors to test your dancing skills as well, and you’ll even be racing and fixing hotrod cars as you tap your feet to the rock and roll beat!

Both games are available on Nintendo Wii and DS from August 27th.
