AGS had a good morning in the matches against Cowley HS with three of the four teams winning quite convincingly.

Unfortunately the U15s were the teams to lose out by 53 runs.

Set a target of 107 for 6 (H Shakoor 2 for 9) AGS could only muster 54 for 9 with none of the batsmen able to make any real impression.

In the U14 game AGS were bowled out for 63 but tight bowling (G Barnes 3 for 3) and sound fielding restricted Cowley to 47 for 7 allowing AGS to take the game by 16 runs.

The U13s were particularly impressive making 70 for 7 with C Hart contributing an unbeaten 21.

D Bourne led the way in attack with 3 for 5, helped by athletic fielding and good catching which restricted Cowley to 37-9 AGS a 33 run victory.

For the second week running Richard Newton made a significant contribution to the U12s who won by 9 wicket.

Batting first, Cowley scored a creditable 71 for 3 although some rather benevolent bowling and fielding by AGS helped the score along.

Despite being dropped four times R Newton made 23 and was most ably supported byLiam Heaney who batted sensibly, right through the innings, for an unbeaten 29 allowing AGS to close on 75 for 1.
