THE Seamons Cycling Club road racing season got off to a good start when the club's Japanese member, Yaz Yashida took 5th place in the Mersey Road CC event and led Mark Bailey, Mark's father Keith, and Dave Fox to a team win.

This was followed up by Mark Bailey taking 3rd place and best Junior in the Stiperstones R.R. with Jaz in 5th.

Over on Merseyside Chris Siepen was well placed finishing 9th in a hard race.

On the time trial scene Steve Davis won the club's 10 miles Championship in 22m 47 secs. from last year's champ.

Robin Haigh 23-12 and Dave Bates 23-23.

Steve followed this up with a fine ride in the Anfield BC 100 miles event taking 5th place with 4 hours 16 minutes 38 seconds and a very promising newcomer to racing, John Woodhouse, record 1.1.10 in his first attempt at the 25 miles distance.
