RESIDENTS in Partington could soon be setting their watches to a new timepiece.

For there are plans in place to build a millennium clock right in the heart of the village.

The new freestanding clock will be sited in front of the Greyhound pub at the junction of Manchester Road and Manchester New Road if consent is passed.

The plan is among the latest batch of applications lodged with Trafford Borough Council - details of which are now available for inspection during normal office hours at Trafford Direct 2000 at Sale Town Hall, Tatton Road, Sale.

In addition, plans for the Altrincham area can be seen between 2pm and 3.30pm tomorrow (Friday) at the town hall in Market Street, Altrincham.
