BOBBIES in Trafford are warning homeowners with cat flaps to be wary after a spate of burglaries in the borough.
Cheeky small thieves have been sneaking into homes through feline doorways and residents are advised to keep cat flaps locked wherever possible.
Crime reduction advisor for south Trafford, PC Tony Crompton says: "People should remember that some thieves will try anything to get into your home and at your belongings.
"That is why we urge residents to leave any keys away from the door area and maybe even alter any alarms so that they are not activated by a small animal but do go off when a person gets inside.
"It may well be the festive season but it is traditionally the busiest time of year for thieves."
