ALTRINCHAM Kersal Under 16s retained their Cheshire club championship with a characteristically determined display.
The game started with a Marple penalty. Kersal res-ponded with a number of forward drives to take them onto the Marple line.
The pressure told when the ball was spun out to Ben Linnen to crash over for a try. Shortly after this, winger Will Koller gave Kersal a clear lead, with an interception try. Mark Molloy converted both tries.
Second half tries came from Dave Moore (3) and Ben Linnen. The final try was scored by man of the match Ryan Parkinson who again showed terrific strength and pace to outstrip the Marple defence to score.
Mark Molloy converted three of the tries for a final score of 45-3. The team coaches, Brian Collier and Brian Keevil have coached this team for the last seven years and are now seeing their determination and committment to produce an all-round team paying dividends.
