A NEW home service has been launched which is set to bring huge benefits to some of the borough’s most vulnerable residents.

REACH OUT will see a team of counsellors making home visits for the first time to those who need help and support but can’t make the trip to a clinic.

Physical bars like disability can make travel impossible, while mental conditions such as agoraphobia or anxiety issues mean that people simply can’t face the journey – despite being in real need of help.

Based at the Counselling and Family Centre in Altrincham, REACH OUT will tackle these issues by taking their services to the people who need them – offering a friendly, professional service in the client’s own home and familiar surroundings.

Centre manager Jo Wood said of the service, which is funded by Trafford Innovations: "You don’t have to suffer in silence just because you can’t get out. For the first time, we can come to you – in your own home, at a time to suit you. If you live in Trafford, we’re there for you – and can be there with you.”REACH OUT is based at the Counselling and Family Centre in Altrincham. Call 0161 941 7754 for appointment details and further information – leave a message out of office hours and the team will get back to you.
