A pub is serving free ice cream, flavoured with beer and honey, to mark the end of summer.
The Black Friar, located on Blackfriars Road in Salford, has teamed up with Grandpa Greene’s to give away Honey Ripple Boddington’s ice cream this Bank Holiday Monday, August 31, from 12pm as part of its ‘Summer of Boddies’ celebration.
The offer is part of the pub’s summer-long tribute to the return of Boddington’s Cask Ale.
A spokesperson for The Black Friar said: "We’d love to get the word out ahead of the Bank Holiday if you’re able to cover the activation or include it in any upcoming summer/Bank Holiday round-ups.
"And of course, if you’d like to come down and experience it for yourself, we’d love to have you there."
The ice cream, created in partnership with Grandpa Greene’s, is made using a traditional recipe from 1920 and contains Boddington’s ale and honey.
Described as 'malty, sweet and creamy,' it will be served from a cart outside the Grade II-listed pub, which has been fully decorated for the occasion.
Handcrafted sunflowers, black and yellow worker bee motifs, and a striking 10ft sunflower centrepiece now adorn the venue.
The free ice cream offer will last until supplies run out.
The Black Friar is located at 41–43 Blackfriars Road in Salford.
