The clockwise and anticlockwise exit and entry slip roads at Junction 7 will be closed.
The work is scheduled to take place overnight between 8pm and 6am from Monday, August 17, until Saturday, August 22.
Diversion routes will be provided via alternative junctions of the M60 motorway and local roads.
Traffic signs will guide drivers along these alternate routes.
Emergency services and works vehicles will be exempt from the restrictions.
The closures will be in effect only when indicated by traffic signs.
The resurfacing works are part of ongoing improvements to the A56 Chester Road.
National Highways Limited, the company responsible for the work, has stated that the order, which initially lasts for 18 months, is in place to facilitate the resurfacing works.
