An outdoor retailer is set to open a large shop in Altrincham town centre which will have "everything families need for their next outdoor adventure".
Mountain Warehouse UK will open a new 20,710 sq ft store in Altrincham’s Stamford Quarter this autumn.
The town centre store is Mountain Warehouse’s first significant step into the Greater Manchester area and will see the creation of 13 new jobs.
The new store will stock items including clothing, footwear, equipment and kidswear including rain jackets, walking boots and ski wear.
Along with the Mountain Warehouse ranges, customers will find the latest Animal collections, which offers organic cotton tees and hoodies featuring the famous Animal logo, as well as swimwear and flip flops.
The shop will join the diverse retail community in Stamford Quarter, which includes a number of independent stores as well as brands including Parasol, Utility, Holland Barrett, Gift & Home, Next, Boots, Flannels, Sostrene Grene and Nationwide.
James Tootle, Head of Retail and Leisure at property company Bruntwood, said: “The arrival of Mountain Warehouse is a great addition to the Stamford Quarter and Greater Manchester and perfectly complements the existing retailers in the area.
“The brand stocks everything families need for their next outdoor adventure and we are delighted that they have chosen Altrincham for the location of their first big opening in the area.
“It will sit alongside independent and national brands and will attract even more visitors to our growing community.”
A spokesperson for Mountain Warehouse said: “We’re delighted to be opening our new store in the Stamford Quarter, and excited to share our passion for adventure and great value outdoor gear for all the family, even the dog.”
Cllr Liz Patel, Executive Member for Economy and Regeneration at Trafford Council, commented: “I’m thrilled Mountain Warehouse, another high profile business, has chosen Altrincham’s Stamford Quarter as their new home.
“Mountain Warehouse joins the growing roster of businesses taking up residence in the Stamford Quarter, joining names like Lane 7, Starbucks and Nell’s Pizza.
“The range of businesses in the area makes it a dynamic retail and leisure hub to be enjoyed by visitors and residents of Altrincham alike.”
