Ex-Altrincham and Sale West MP Sir Graham Brady is one of those to receive a peerage in a list of Dissolution Honours.
Sir Graham is to switch the House of Commons for the House of Lords after he stood down ahead of the General Election.
Born in Salford and an alumnus of Altrincham Grammar School for Boys, then of Durham University, he was in his 20s when he became the Altrincham and Sale West MP for the first time.
In 2010 he became the chair of the 1922 Committee and he was in the role until 2024 apart from a short stint when there were reports of an attempt at the leadership of the Conservative Party.
